JOB SUMMARY: Performs duties associated with planning purchasing, manufacturing, and supply-chain needs throughout the Brand vertical.
This individual will be responsible for evaluating sales history, inventory position, open sales orders and determining a demand forecast and supply plan for defined product groupings for the company.
This position will include regular interaction with all levels of Sales, Product, Finance, and Operations to ensure product strategy, contract changes, market dynamics, and product supply are accurately reflected in the demand forecast and support Corporate fiscal targets.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: Planning
· Execute a global planning strategy including demand plan, supplier forecasting, inventory levels, slow movers, and inventory mix by region
· Collaborate with Product and Sales on any decisions associated with product de-listing, product life cycle integration into catalog, etc.
as well as to understand historical, trend and future strategic information that impacts the forecast, such as upcoming product transitions or introductions, or critical sales strategies
· Manage the material scheduling strategy and processes, ensuring material supply meets demand in each of our warehouse locations
· Develop a planning strategy for each key account to provide transparency to the full demand including custom projects
· Reconcile significant variances, define and refine the forecast model to reflect updated sales and marketing assumptions.
Monitor abnormal demand and take corrective action to prevent reoccurrence and to avoid excessive inventory
· Improve standard operating procedures for demand planning processes and provide input into S&OP process (i.e.
inventory strategies on existing items, new products, and product phase-outs)
· Develop forecast accuracy measurements and is accountable for monthly and rolling three month forecast accuracy improvement
· Prepare and maintain relevant reports pertaining to demand planning process and create ad hoc reporting as needed
· Support mitigation of inventory risk by auditing purchases on a regular basis
· Provide guidance to the purchasing team for ordering and to understand lead times and develop creative strategies to enhance flexibility
· Utilize deep understanding of demand planning processes and BOM structure, and utilization of differing procurement approaches for planning ABC items
· Ensure and maintain data integrity, data management, planning/item master parameters in planning/ERP systems
· Special projects as needed Continuous improvement
· Drive performance improvement through the use and interpretation of Continuous Improvement Tools
· Address the root causes of issues, create corrective action plans, and implement long term solutions
· Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required with internal and cross-functional teams
· Deploy Lean methods to simplify processes, eliminate waste/non-value adding activities and improve workflow: evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of processes, procedures, and daily workflow
· Develop, implement, and maintain work instructions and process documentation
· Challenge the team to be Customer Centric, including developing strategies to enhance our customer service and our growth, focusing on deliveries that are on-time, in-full and defect-free to influence positive customer feedback results, responsiveness to internal and external customers REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:

– Knowledge of 6 Sigma, Lean (Kaizens, Workouts, Process mapping) and Vendor Managed Inventory a plus
– Organizational skills, with ability to manage competing priorities
– Strong Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word is required EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
– Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent work experience
– Excellent written and oral communication skills with ability to effectively communicate well with all levels of the organization – English
– 2-4 years of relevant work experience in global supply chain and planning.
